October 2023
NDEAM 2023: Advancing Access and Equity
If it's October, it's National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). This year, there are a number of new resources available to help employers and employees participate in this annual celebration of the skills and talents people with disabilities add to America's workplaces and economy.
To start, the official 2023 NDEAM poster [ [link removed] ] is available for download and mail order. Illustrating this year's NDEAM theme, "Advancing Access and Equity," the poster conveys the importance of ensuring disabled people have equal opportunity to prepare for and succeed in employment. It also honors the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 [ [link removed] ].
For the first time this year, the NDEAM poster is also available in a format that allows businesses to insert both their name and/or logo and their own photos. In addition, employers and employees can download a variation of the poster sized as a virtual background [ [link removed] ] for use throughout the month.
Other new resources include a range of outreach tools, including key NDEAM messages [ [link removed] ] and social media graphics. A variety of these resources?including the NDEAM poster?are available in Spanish on a new NDEAM en espa?ol webpage [ [link removed] ].
Employers and employees are encouraged to use any and all of these tools to help spread the NDEAM spirit this October and help communicate a commitment to supportive, inclusive workplace policies and practices?all year round.
