Hi John, it’s Jarvis — Sister District’s Organizing and Political Director. 👋
Here’s something you may not know about me:
While I’ve been organizing for years, the first canvassing trip I ever organized was as a student at Howard University to turn out Virginia voters! In fact, my experience at Howard was one of the reasons why I became an organizer.
Now, with so much at stake in Virginia this year, I’m organizing another canvassing trip with Howard students to knock on doors in the Commonwealth — and you can help make it happen.
Can you pitch in $5 to sponsor our weekend canvassing trip for Howard students? We're aiming to raise $1,200 to help cover our costs!

In the words of Harry Belafonte, “Movements don't die, because struggle doesn’t die.”
Economic justice. Environmental justice. Abortion access. LGBTQ+ rights. They are all on the line this November, and the people of Virginia need us. We need all hands on deck!
I couldn’t be more excited to bring an amazing group of Howard students back to the Commonwealth to encourage voters to use their voice at the ballot box, help our candidates win, and inspire a new generation of organizers.
If you’re able, please consider pitching in $5, or whatever you can, to support our canvassing trip and power our organizing!
Thank you so much!
Jarvis Houston
