America Must Stand United with Our Great Ally Israel

• More than 100 Israelis were killed as Hamas militants carried out an unprecedented, multifront attack on Israel at daybreak Saturday, firing over 2,500 rockets as dozens of Hamas fighters infiltrated the heavily fortified border in several locations by air, land, and sea and catching the country off-guard on the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War.
• America must stand united with our great ally Israel and end the Biden administration policies that have appeased and emboldened our enemies around the world.  
• The Biden administration has to answer for their policy of appeasing Tehran and granting the regime unprecedented revenues through ransom and illicit oil sales—money that is flowing directly to terror attacks on Israel. 
• The horrific scenes in Israel are a harsh reminder of the urgent need to secure our own border. More than 160 suspected terrorists have tried to enter the country this year alone. The Biden-designed chaos at the border makes an attack on our country more likely. Congress must act.  
• Heritage unequivocally condemns the unprecedented and unprovoked terrorist attack on Israel coordinated by the Islamic Republic of Iran through its proxy Hamas.

Yellen and Rest of Bidenomics Team Ignore Middle-Class Misery Their Policies Create

• Few people have done more to destroy the American middle class than Janet Yellen. Both in her former capacity as Federal Reserve chair and now as secretary of the Treasury, she has been woefully disconnected from everyday Americans and their current financial plight. 
• This arrogant detachment allowed her to recently declare that she sees no sign of a recession. Meanwhile, half of Americans feel like we’re already in one.
• While inflation was destroying American’s livelihoods, Yellen assured the public throughout 2021 that it was only "transitory," which of course wasn’t true. But that didn’t stop inflation from robbing people of their earnings and savings.
• Yet, even as the middle class are clearly being crushed, Yellen continues advocating for more taxes and spending, burdensome financial regulations, and the constant printing of money to pay for it all. She promotes, in other words, the burgeoning federal budget at the expense of the family budget, and still has the gall to say that "everything is fine."

The US, Not China, Should Take the Lead on AI

• China is at the bleeding edge of using emerging technologies for oppression – both at home and abroad. Journalists and human-rights activists have long pointed to a state-run data system that uses AI to flag whole categories of people for detention in the western Xinjiang region.
• Since at least 2018, China has provided AI-driven digital monitoring capabilities to countries across Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and beyond. Today, China maintains 296 surveillance relationships in 96 countries, many via its designated "AI Champion" companies.
• China wants to win an AI race. Their 2017 plan to lead in global AI development by 2030 explicitly seeks first mover advantage at the expense of other nations.
• If America and freedom-loving nations don’t write the rules of the road for emerging technologies like AI, authoritarians will do it for us. America must instead contest China's vision for AI and offer our own affirmative agenda in its place.
