Dear friend,

We are just over one month away from our Preaching Conference on November 16th in New York! We would love to have you join us. Some of the ways folks have described our events (and I agree):

Like a family reunion.
Connected me with friends and fellow travelers in an environment that was not contentious or embattled,
but full of joy, camaraderie, and the Holy Spirit.
Helped me reflect on ministry -- on the person rather than "the job."
An inspiring and joyful experience.

Intrigued? Here's a little more about the diverse slate of speakers and rich topics you'll enjoy if you join us:

Preaching as Devotion for Mission
The Rt. Rev. Jenny Andison

Bishop Jenny is rector of St. Paul’s Bloor Street, a lively Canadian parish, and former area bishop of York-Credit Valley in the Diocese of Toronto. She has lived and worked in England, Pakistan, India, Singapore, and Japan.

What Is Apostolic Preaching?
The Rev. Anthony Burton

Bishop Tony is a dynamic speaker, the former Bishop of Saskatchewan, and former rector of the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation, Dallas. In 1993 he became the youngest bishop in the Anglican Communion.

Preaching in a Post-Christian Age and Preaching as a Sacramental Act
The Rev. Magnus Persson

Magnus is a charismatic church planter whose theological journey led him to ordination in the Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Sweden. Since then he’s been working for EFS, a missional renewal movement in the Church of Sweden.

Preaching That Builds Community
The Rev. Matthew Hoskinson

Matthew directs the City Ministry Program for City to City, a transformative urban education for the next generation of Christian leaders. A pastor for pastors, he provides coaching, spiritual direction, and mentoring for leaders.

Building Your Sermon Series: Advent and Lent
The Rev. Jacob Smith

Jacob is the rector of Calvary-St. George’s Episcopal Church in NYC. He is passionate about good preaching as central to church health and renewal, and cohosts Same Old Song, the lectionary podcast of Mockingbird Ministries.

Preparing for TLC conferences, we focus on and pray for great speakers, thoughtful hosting, good weather -- all the things event planners hope for. But above all, we pray for the refreshment and Spirit renewal of all Christian leaders who gather with us. We pray for joy and new friendships. We believe that in three days, the Lord can do a lot.

Preacher, if you need some time to re-center, if you need some professional development, if you want a few days in an encouraging and supportive environment, we'd love to welcome you to NYC in November.
