Only 60% of Republicans supported the measure. But we’re not out of the woods. Because MAGA Republicans spent the month leading up to the October 1st deadline wasting time with distraction after distraction, we could only pass a continuing resolution that gave us another 45 days to pass the budget. Now, we’re down to 38. And House Republicans are more dysfunctional than ever – they even ousted their own speaker for acting with Democrats to keep the government open. Our government has a duty to work together and pass legislation that supports our constituents. I can tell you firsthand that House Democrats are laser-focused on what matters most – like ensuring Social Security, Medicare, and FEMA are fully funded.
