READ: June Medical Services v. Russo Explainer

Dear John,

Instead of working to improve their constituents’ health, anti-abortion lawmakers in Louisiana are blocking access to abortion care. This Wednesday, the U.S. Supreme Court is hearing June Medical Services v. Russo, a challenge to a Louisiana law that would close every abortion clinic in the state but one.

The outcome of this case has far-reaching implications. It could impact abortion access across the country and galvanize opponents of abortion to pass more medically unnecessary laws.

To help you understand the basics of the case, we put together a brief explainer.
