The chaos of what is happening at our nation’s capitol has me asking once again: Who are House Republicans serving?

From extending the possibility of a government shutdown by only 45 days instead of passing a clean budget to ousting their House Speaker without a clear intention of choosing someone else fit for the job, these political games are harming all of us.

Instead of putting the interests of the American people first, Republicans in Congress are playing tit-for-tat to force an extremist agenda most Americans oppose. This isn’t true leadership or service.

True service is about putting the interests of the folks who elected us to best represent them in elected office first. It shouldn’t be about political power or games.

The people of Maryland and across the nation deserve a functioning government. If you agree, please add your name to our petition calling on House Republicans to end the political games and keep the government open.
