Dear John,
Today marks four weeks to go until Election Day and I wanted to give you an update about where we stand:
1) Early voting is going really well for us, especially as mail-in ballots have begun arriving. We're confident more of our likely supporters have cast their votes so far than the other side's likely supporters and, at the rate they're coming in, we're optimistic we'll have an advantage going into Election Day (Nov. 7), though it will still be absolutely critical that our ground game and poll greeting come out in full force. (Please let me know if you'd like to volunteer!)
2) Our field team and volunteers have done an outstanding job, from knocking on doors to chasing absentee ballots. We knocked on more than 13,500 doors October 2-8 alone -- which is November numbers in early October -- and, just this weekend alone, we had 76 volunteers canvassing the district in addition to our staffers and candidates. Our district's field director is sitting across from me right now as I'm writing this and he's telling me we're crushing our goals, which makes yours truly slightly less stressed at the moment (subject to change in probably 5-10 minutes).
3) Our data shows us we should have an excellent showing in the Manassas / Manassas Park area, my lifelong home, and that our purple battlegrounds remain Bristow, Gainesville and Haymarket. There is a scenario, after reallocating early votes by precinct after Election Day, that we sweep every Manassas-area precinct like I did in my 2019 House of Delegates race though there are about five precincts, here we'll still have to fight extra hard to win.
4) We have one last fundraiser coming up October 19 in Lake Ridge at Water's End Brewery, where I declared victory in 2017 (for the second time that historic night). Whether or not you can attend, please donate $10, $25, $50, $100 or whatever you can to the event to help us fund the home stretch of the campaign and win big this November 7.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity all throughout this election. We're ready to win -- and with your help, I'll be heading to the state Senate to represent the new 30th District on January 10, 2024.
Warmly, Danica |
