By now, I’m sure many of you have seen the disturbing and heart wrenching news coming from the Middle East. First and foremost, I mourn the loss of innocent lives, Israeli and Palestinian alike. Hamas’ heinous and brutal attack on Israel by land, air, and sea has been defined by deliberate human rights violations. Make no mistake, these are the actions of terrorists. These atrocities inflicted on civilians must be unequivocally condemned and not politicized. As a member of Congress, I will continue to stand firmly alongside President Biden as we support our steadfast ally, Israel.

We continue to face immense challenges at home and abroad. These can be especially trying times, but I have faith that freedom will prevail over terror once again. As the late Congressman John Lewis said, “Democracy is not a state. It is an act, and each generation must do its part.”
