I’m reaching out after what I know has been a weekend full of anguish, fear and pain for us all in our DC community and beyond.

It’s hard to find the words as we witness the horror continuing to unfold in Israel at this moment. While we attempt to process our grief for this ongoing situation, we are thinking of and praying for all of our friends, family and community in Israel and Gaza.

As our community grapples with the enormity of the situation, we want to offer a space to come together and support one another.

On behalf of our DC Metro co-chairs Howard Sumka and Ed Kopf, I want to invite you to join our DC Metro Community Gathering tomorrow, October 11 at 12pm. Register to join us here >>

We’ll use this time for open conversation and shared support, and will be joined by a member of J Street’s Rabbinic and Cantorial Cabinet to provide words of comfort and prayer to those who need it.
