I'm writing to you today to ask you to join me in supporting Joe Biden with a donation of $5. But first, I want to tell you about how I reached my decision to endorse my friend Joe.

Right now, America is afflicted by a president who delights in division, cruelty, lies, chaos, and self-congratulation. We are better than that. We deserve a president of high character in the Oval Office. And Americans can find that in Joe Biden.

I know that Joe will be a great leader on day one -- but not only that, he's also the kind of person who can unite this country and defeat Donald Trump in order to get there.

Joe reminds me of my favorite president, Harry S. Truman -- an outwardly ordinary man whose work ethic, faith in the goodness of everyday Americans, and love of country made him a great president.

So I'm asking you to support Joe Biden with your vote and with your $5 today.

I know you can't chip in every time you get asked, but if you can chip in today, we can launch him to victory tomorrow in my home state, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the other 15 pivotal contests:
