Silence is not an option     JOIN ME TONIGHT for a Community Gathering in Support of Israel & our Jewish Neighbors Hello John, There are moments when it is incumbent upon on us to gather together and stand with our neighbors when unfathomable atrocities occur. Today is such a day. Over 1,000 Israelis – primarily Jews – have been slaughtered since Saturday morning by Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists and their backers in Iran. Over 100 have been taken hostage. 11 Americans are so far confirmed among the dead. It is likely American citizens are among those taken hostage. All of these numbers are expected to climb. In a small Jewish village near Gaza today, Israeli recovery teams found some 200 of its residents massacred – one third – of its population, including around 40 babies, some of them were beheaded. It is just one site among many. This follows the gruesome earlier discovery of 260 Israelis butchered by Palestinian terrorists at a music festival in one of the first acts of this terrorist war. Many of the eyewitness accounts coming out of Israel today are simply too horrific to repeat here. In the words of Fox News foreign correspondent, Trey Yingst, who has had access to some of these sites: “Imagine the worst things possible that can be done to humans. Hamas did all of that and more to Israeli civilians. Babies beheaded. People burned alive in their homes. Women raped and dragged through the streets. Don’t look away.” Growing up in Iraq and reporting as a journalist for decades in the Middle East, I’ve seen my share of barbaric butchery. It is gut-wrenching to consider that more Jews were murdered this past Saturday than at any time since the Holocaust 75 years ago. Please join me tonight at Beth El Synagogue in St. Louis Park for a “Community Gathering in Support of Israel.” Address: 5225 Barry Street W, St. Louis Park, MN Doors: 5:30PM Program: 6PM If the phrase “Never Again” is to mean anything, we cannot be silent now.
