John,
“You don’t fire a guy who’s winning”
That’s what John James said after the sixth failed vote to name Kevin McCarthy speaker, shortly before McCarthy agreed to the far right’s demands that would leave us in today’s speaker-less House chaos.
Was “winning” the bowing to extremists or leading the least productive, most dysfunctional House of all time?
This seems to be a theme with John James: He’s always around failed leaders.
I guess it’s true when they say, “You are the company you keep.”
There was James’ major endorsement of Donald Trump’s campaign after the January 6 riots and despite introducing a bill that would prevent other people Trump’s age from running for office:

There’s the handshake seen round the world with Speaker McCarthy before his disastrous ‘Winning’ quote:

And now James has thrown his hat in the ring for Steve Scalise, a man who has openly criticized James’ previous BFF McCarthy and who has referred to himself as "David Duke without the baggage."

Scalise isn’t lying either – he’s attended a white supremacist conference organized by Duke, the former ‘Grand Wizard’ of the KKK himself.
Of course this isn’t disqualifying to James, who’s referred to Scalise as “the Legend from Louisiana.” But legends are from the past, and James’ time representing us needs to be too.
