Let's just say it:

When extremist Republicans run Congress, it's a mess.

For the first time in more than a century, the House has booted the Speaker – an historic event – and full credit belongs to the MAGA Republicans who have seized control of Congress.

But here's a sad fact: Kevin McCarthy was the "moderate option" for Speaker. Keep in mind what that means: he would have been happy to defund Social Security, put a stop to public education, and end abortion rights in the United States, but that wasn't extreme enough for MAGA Republicans.

So, now we are looking at a Congress with no Speaker, no clear frontrunner to replace the Speaker, an impending budget crisis, a pointless impeachment, and a Congress that is paralyzed by its own dysfunction.

And it's all hurting the American people.

Rural communities suffer when MAGA Republicans are in power; some of them are the same folks who claim to represent rural communities, but in reality, they are only representing themselves.

MAGA extremists will cut the programs that rural communities need the most; things like education funding, rural broadband, Medicare and Medicaid, VA benefits, and so much more.

Members of Congress like Lauren Boebert and Matt Gaetz go to Washington to end these vital resources, resources their constituents rely on, and then return home and demand votes.

It's sick, it's twisted, and it's wrong.
