I am sure you are as sickened as I am by the horrific attack by Hamas terrorists against the people of Israel. Thousands of innocent civilians, including American citizens, have lost their lives to this brutal, unprovoked violence. Many more have been injured or lost family members and friends. Israel can and will defend itself, and the United States will remain steadfast in our support. 

As Ranking Member of the House Intelligence Committee, I have been in close contact with the Administration and the Intelligence Community throughout the weekend. We continue work to unconditionally support our strongest Middle Eastern ally. 

We are also aware that hundreds of thousands of Americans are in Israel, and that some are seeking to safely leave the country.
