Team, I’m tired of the instability that comes with temporary protections.
DACA recipients like myself find ourselves in a constant state of uncertainty. Our work permits and protections from deportation have always been a temporary solution, vulnerable to attacks by conservative courts or anti-immigrant politicians.
While Congress and President Biden wait to act, millions of immigrant youth like myself watch in disbelief, knowing that our lives depend on them passing legislation.
There’s an urgent need for permanent solutions, team: Judge Hanen ruled against DACA again — and now the case may head to the Supreme Court.
Attacks against immigrant youth and all undocumented people are nothing new — my own home state was one of the nine Republican-led states that moved to shut down DACA earlier this year.
Along with millions of ineligible undocumented people, hundreds of thousands of DACA recipients could be left without work permits or protections from deportation if we don’t act now.
DACA was won through relentless organizing from undocumented youth and allies across the country demanding basic protections — and it’s going to require even more organizing to demand more.
Now, we need to pick up the fight. Will you donate $10 or any amount today to help UWDA secure permanent protections for immigrant youth and all undocumented people before it’s too late?

This most recent court decision is just a reminder that our goals for permanent protections remain unfulfilled. We deserve a future where everyone can not just survive, but thrive.
Thank you for being a part of our movement.
