John, it’s World Mental Health Day. I could start with a shocking statistic… but today, I don’t want to dwell on kids’ suffering.
I want to celebrate how life-changing the right support can be. So, here’s a story with a happy ending.
Surviving the war in Syria was just the beginning of Jana’s* journey. After her family reached safety, she faced what felt like an impossible task: calling a refugee camp home.
Jana was sad, isolated and angry for a long time . Then, she joined an emotional support group — and found joy in new hobbies. Her favorites are soccer, drawing and riding her bike!
Mental health support helped Jana heal from years of trauma. That’s why the MINDS Act matters… it’d bring hope to millions of kids like her. [[link removed]]
John , 1 in 6 children are battling a mental health disorder. The Mental Health in International Development and Humanitarian Settings (MINDS) Act would make supporting them a key part of U.S. foreign aid for the first time ever.
For kids coping with crisis, surviving is just the beginning. Tell Congress to protect their futures by passing the MINDS Act! [[link removed]]
Thanks for being a voice for kids,
