President Biden Works Half Day as War Escalates

Townhall: President Joe Biden called a lid before noon on Monday as Americans continue to be held hostage by Iranian backed Hamas in the Gaza Strip and as Israel is still under assault. “The White House has called a lid for the day, before the pool call time. We will not be seeing the president today,” the White House pool report states. Last night Biden and First Lady Jill Biden hosted a party at the White House, complete with a live band (Townhall). Katie Pavlich: While countless Americans are being held hostage in Gaza, with attacks on civilians in Israel ongoing, President Biden is hosting a BBQ (X). Libs of TikTok: Hamas announced they’re going to execute hostages on live TV. There are multiple American hostages. Biden is nowhere to be found because the White House called a lid today before noon. Abhorrent (X).

Israel’s IDF Has “neutralized a number of terrorist infiltrators”

Daily Wire: The Israeli military said on Monday that it had “neutralized a number of terrorist infiltrators” who had crossed from Lebanon into Israel amidst attacks from Hamas, a Palestinian Islamic terrorist organization. The attacks from Hamas have led to the deaths of more than 700 Israelis and left at least 2,500 others injured over the past several days. Most of the attacks have come in the south of Israel, but Lebanon-based Hezbollah also launched strikes against Israel over the weekend. The IDF has struck hundreds of targets inside of Gaza, from which the Palestinians launched thousands of rockets at Israel and later stormed the border. At least nine Americans were killed in the Hamas attacks, which were reportedly supported, in part, by Iran (Daily Wire). Israel Defense Force: The IDF neutralized a number of terrorist infiltrators who crossed from Lebanon into Israel. We are defending our country and stand ready on all borders (X).

U.S. Sends Warships to Middle East Region to Support Israel

NBC: The U.S. warships and fighter jets deploying near Israel this week in support of Israel are also intended to send an explicit message to Iran, according to current and former senior U.S. officials. That message, one of the officials said, is “stand down” — specifically when it comes to any considerations by Tehran of unleashing the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah. “This is all about deterring Iran,” the official said. U.S. to send military assets closer to Israel, Pentagon announces. The Biden administration is sending the ships of the Navy’s USS Gerald Ford Carrier Strike Group to the eastern Mediterranean Sea, and officials are planning to keep in place for the foreseeable future some F-16 and A-10 fighter jets that were scheduled to rotate out of the region (NBC). Chief White house Correspondent Simon Ateba: A US ship carrying fighter jets has reached Israel’s west coast to help Israel battle Hamas. Israel is retaliating following the attack by bombing buildings, mosques, and universities. Civilians, women, and children are bombed to death (X).

President Biden Confirms 11 Americans Have Been Killed in Israel by Hamas

Spencer Brown: Hours after the White House called a pre-noon “lid” for the day on Monday despite a growing number of American citizens confirmed dead in Hamas’ attack on Israel, the administration finally published a statement attributed to President Joe Biden on “American Citizens Impacted in Israel.” The president confirmed “that at least 11 American citizens were among those killed—many of whom made a second home in Israel,” without mentioning the party responsible for the deadly attacks, Hamas. Biden also claimed — despite leaving countless Americans behind in a Taliban-controlled Afghanistan — that the “safety of American citizens—whether at home or abroad—is my top priority as President” before making his only reference to Hamas in the seven-paragraph statement. “While we are still working to confirm, we believe it is likely that American citizens may be among those being held by Hamas,” Biden said (Townhall). Hill: The State Department is providing consular assistance to Americans who are currently in Israel and urged those in the area to follow the guidance of local authorities. Biden has spoken multiple times with Netanyahu since the attacks first unfolded, and he met earlier Monday with his national security team. The president has vowed to assist Israel as it deals with the fallout of the attacks, and the U.S. has already repositioned military assets in the region and sent some munitions to Israel. In Monday’s statement, Biden called the U.S. and Israel “inseparable partners” (Hill).

Harvard Student Organizations Blame Israel for the Hamas Invasion

New York Post: More than 30 Harvard University student organizations are holding Israel “entirely responsible” for Hamas’ mass slaughter — sparking outraged condemnation. In a letter titled “Joint Statement by Harvard Palestine Solidarity Groups on the Situation in Palestine,” 31 student organizations — including the Ivy League’s affiliate of Amnesty International — condemned Israel, even as its residents are kidnapped and more than 700 have been killed by the terrorist organization. The groups claim Hamas’ attack “did not happen in a vacuum,” and the Israeli government has forced Palestinians to live in an “open-air prison for over two decades,” according to the letter (New York Post). Elise Stefanik: It is abhorrent and heinous that Harvard student groups are blaming Israel for Hamas’ barbaric terrorist attacks that have killed over 700 Israelis. Any voice that excuses the slaughter of innocent women and children has chosen the side of evil and terrorism. I am calling on the leadership of Harvard to immediately publicly condemn these vile anti-Semitic statements (X).

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Officially Switches to Independent

NBC: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. declared his “independence from the Democratic Party” Monday in Philadelphia, ending his campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination and launching an independent bid that he said aims to heal the political divide, which he portrayed as a fiction of a corrupt establishment. “I intend to wrest the reins of power from both parties and give to it the American people,” he said, comparing Republicans and Democrats to teenagers fighting over the steering wheel of an out-of-control car, but both following a GPS programmed by lobbyists. Kennedy has struggled to gain traction in the Democratic primary, even with voters expressing a desire that someone younger take the party banner from President Joe Biden. His views on issues like vaccines and abortion has left him outside the Democratic mainstream (NBC). Reuters: In a hypothetical three-way matchup, Kennedy drew 14% support, Biden’s share fell to 31% and Trump’s to 33%. About 9% said they wouldn’t vote and 13% said they did not know who they would vote for (Reuters). Palestinian terrorism, as far back as 1968, taught the modern world the use of hijacking civilian airlines and the targeting of schools and civilians. This history runs exceedingly close to home: Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.—the presidential candidate—saw his dad killed by a Palestinian who detested his father’s support for Israel.

Celebrities Who Support Israel are Shamed

Daily Wire: Actor Josh Gad, best known for voicing Olaf on the animated Disney film “Frozen,” said he’s been “attacked” and “threatened” by fans for voicing his support for Israel. The 42-year-old actor, who was raised Jewish, spoke out following the terrorist attacks on civilians by Hamas which occurred over the weekend. Gad said he’s been receiving threats ever since making his stance known (Daily Wire). Actor Mark Hamill supports Israel and is receiving lots of hate as well. Ryan Knight: Luke Skywalker joined the dark side and supports apartheid & illegal occupation (X). New York Post: Kylie Jenner has come under fire for posting and then deleting a photo on Instagram showing her support for Israel following a Hamas attack that killed hundreds. The youngest Jenner deleted the Instagram Story post within an hour, following backlash from some of her 400 million Instagram followers. “Don’t get involved in politics and say that u support Israel. Palestine has been suffering for ages,” slammed one person on the socialite’s most recent post. “Are u even human if u are with zionists,” wondered a second person (New York Post).

Hamas “Open to Truce” After Raping, Massacring Israelis

They have sown to the wind. Reuters: A senior Hamas official said the group is open to discussions over a possible truce with Israel, having “achieved its targets.” Moussa Abu Marzouk told Al Jazeera in a phone interview that Hamas was open to “something of that sort” and “all political dialogues” when asked whether the Islamist group is willing to discuss a possible ceasefire. Despite this embarrassment, Secretary of State Antony Blinken tweeted Sunday that he had met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan; he added, “I encouraged Türkiye’s advocacy for a cease-fire.” Blinken later took that one down as well, but other leftists continued to call for a ceasefire at a time when that could only have meant that Hamas would hit Israel and Israel would do nothing in response (Reuters). Rep. Mike Waltz: The Biden Administration is showing its true colors. Once Israel indicated it was going on offense into Gaza, Blinken encourage a cease-fire. Israel has every right to respond to these horrific acts of terror (X).

Border Patrol Encountering Growing Number of Individuals on the Terror Watch List

NBC: This year U.S. border agents have encountered a “growing number of individuals” on the FBI’s terrorist watchlist trying to enter the country via the southern border, according to the Homeland Threat Assessment. As of July, 160 migrants whose identities match those on the Terrorist Screening Dataset had been apprehended by Customs and Border Protection trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border during fiscal year 2023, compared to 100 in fiscal year 2022. Fiscal years end on Sept. 30 (NBC). Fox News’ Bill Melugin: Border Patrol arrests of suspects on the FBI’s terror watchlist at the southern border: FY’23 – 151 (so far). FY’22 – 98. FY’21 – 15. FY’20 – 3. FY’19 – 0. FY’18 – 6. FY’17 – 2. There have also been over 1.5 million known gotaways since start of 2021, enough to fill 16 Rose Bowls (X).

Popular Genealogy Company Hacked, Sensitive Data of Millions of Users Taken

Over 12 million test kits have been sold since 2006. National Review: Personal genetic data was stolen from the biotechnology company 23andMe, which offers genetic testing for ancestral history. The cyberattackers are reportedly targeting Ashkenazi and Chinese users. 23andMe released a statement on Friday identifying data security concerns, saying that actors “obtained information from certain accounts, including information about users’ DNA Relatives profiles, to the extent a user opted into that service.” PCMag reported last week that a threat actor claimed in a now-deleted post to have data from 7 million 23andMe users. Bleeping Computer, a technology publication, reported that a cyberattacker released “1 million lines of data for Ashkenazi people” and offered to sell data profiles for $1-$10 each. The data allegedly includes genetic ancestry, names, geographic location, sex, and date of birth (National Review).
