John, I’m heartbroken.
All people are made in the image of God, and it’s never right to harm an innocent person. Every human being possesses human rights, the first being life.
Even in times of war and conflict, there are still moral rules by which we must abide. Human life is always sacred and human beings have human rights, in war and outside of war. To kidnap children, to rape women, and to murder innocent human beings is always wrong—no matter who carries out the act.
Just like abortion targets an innocent person in the womb for destruction, the killing of an innocent human being is always profoundly evil, and we must fight it at every turn.
Would you join me in prayer today for the innocent people caught up in this war?
I’m praying today for comfort for the people of Israel and for justice and peace in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Pray also for the innocent children and families in Gaza who are facing this horrible conflict.
I’m praying for the families of those who have lost loved ones.
I’m praying for the men, women, and children who have been abducted—for their protection and ultimately reunification with their families—and I’m praying for peace and justice for the nation of Israel, for innocent people in both Israel and Gaza, and for peace in the Middle East.
John, we must remember that ultimately we are in a spiritual battle.
The forces that oppose us are not flesh and blood, but the forces of darkness that can only be won through prayer, service, and love.
May those committing these atrocities come to the recognition that every human life is precious.
May we remember the humanity that unites us and remember our brothers and sisters who are facing this great evil, and let’s stand united together with them in this critical hour.
