About the job
As the Payroll Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of DES payroll functions. Your responsibilities will encompass leadership, management, and consultation within the Finance Division leadership team. You will be responsible for building and leading a team of fiscal analysts, ensuring seamless payroll processing, benefits administration, retirement administration, and tax services. Utilizing HRMS and AFRS, you will coordinate payroll-related information and funds. Your role will also involve implementing internal controls to ensure compliance with laws and regulations while safeguarding public resources. You will serve as an expert consultant, interpreting new regulations, guiding policy implementation, and minimizing risk. Collaborating with internal and external partners, you will explore technology-driven solutions to improve processes. Additionally, you will monitor, research, and report on critical payroll matters, ultimately contributing to organizational financial health and customer satisfaction. Your leadership will extend to supporting Small Agency Financial Services and aligning with DES and Finance Division strategic initiatives.
