New assistant state fire marshal

Capt. Chuck Allen is the new assistant state fire marshal at the State Fire Marshal?s Office.

Allen has been an inspector since 2016. He was promoted to lieutenant in 2018 and captain in 2019.

He has more than 30 years of public safety experience. He was a criminal investigator and patrol supervisor for the Van Zandt County Sheriff?s Office and a fire marshal and emergency management coordinator for Van Zandt County.

Allen has a bachelor?s degree in emergency management from West Texas A&M University and a master?s degree in leadership ? with an emphasis in disaster preparedness and executive fire leadership ? from Grand Canyon University.

He is a Texas Commission on Fire Protection-certified master fire inspector and fire/arson investigator and a master peace officer.?
