As you can tell from the pics below, watching the Lions has been a long-standing tradition in our family. And, yesterday, we kept it going while watching Lions secure another BIG win in their historic season. Woot woot!

Pet photos aside, I think there's a lesson that matches our dedicated and long-suffering fandom: Despite the ups and downs, our best days are ahead.

I know that people are losing confidence in our institutions. Congress isn’t governing. Tribalism is threatening our Democracy. And, we have a shrinking middle class that threatens the American Dream.

Don’t lose faith.

Matt and Maloo have been wearing the Silver and Blue, and excitedly watching it all come together.

And, today - despite all of the attacks on our democracy, we see young people across our state working to get out the vote. We have strikers across the nation fighting for the middle class. We have ordinary people in our communities standing up against misinformation, division, and hate.

Being a Lions' fan has often been more bittersweet than sweet — but we do it anyway because we love the people who come together for this team, and we're proud to be Michiganders. And, we know one day, they are going to win the Super Bowl.

Likewise, I'm running for Congress because I love my community, and I know that we aren’t done yet. This American experiment - the Democracy that has inspired the whole world - is far from over. Our best days are yet to come. And, you are a part of that.
