Located within the Facility Professional Services (FPS) division, the Cost Engineer provides cost engineering expertise and services for the development of total cost estimates and cost analysis required for budget forecasts, facilities planning, conceptual studies, bid comparison of projects for design and construction of real property. In this role you will provide cost review, verification and analysis of bid proposals, construction change orders, design consultant proposals, Job Order Contract (JOC) work orders, emergency contracts, contract claims, and other price proposals to ensure those proposals are accurate, reflect the effort required by the scope of work and are in alignment with current market prices. You will also work to advise FPS leaders on the establishment of division policies and procedures relating to verification of cost data supporting contract documents and to ensure compliance with DES policy, RCWs, and WACs.
