Renewable energy, we are often told, is the future. To combat climate change, they say, we must agree to net zero carbon dioxide emissions.

But what would this actually mean for America? What would be the implications of forcing everyone to only drive electric vehicles? How many solar farms and wind turbines would America need if we were to replace oil and gas? Is green energy the future, or folly?
