National Coming Out Day

National Coming Out Day is this Wednesday, October 11!
To all our LGBTQ+ loved ones, you are valid whether you:

• Come out because you're safe and choose to do so.
• Aren't able to come out, or choose not to, for any reason.
• Are out only to yourself.
• Come out only to family and/or friends.
• Come out once, twice, or many times in your life.

No matter where you're at in your coming out journey, know that PFLAG loves you and is here for you. Find resources on our website for yourself or your LGBTQ+ loved ones. 

Indigenous Peoples' Day

The PFLAG National office--which we respectfully acknowledge is on Piscataway and Nacotchtank (Anacostan) land--is closed today in honor of Indigenous Peoples' Day. We are #PFLAGProud to honor the community all year long, including by investing in Bay Bank, founded and solely owned by the Oneida Nation.

PFLAG Connects: Communities - October Meetings

PFLAG Connects: Communities (PCC) provide a safe, virtual, moderated space where people with shared experiences can connect each month. PFLAG National’s current communities gather people of Latino, Black/African American, and Asian American and Pacific Islander backgrounds to gain support, ask questions, and learn from others who have been through similar experiences. 

We also host a Military Community meeting, in partnership with our friends at the Modern Military Association of America (MMAA).

The Morty Manford Volunteerism Award

Learning With Love: The 2023 PFLAG National Convention is 2 weeks away and we couldn't be more excited to see you there! We're #PFLAGProud to be honoring Michael Knote, founder and executive director of Have a Gay Day with the Morty Manford Volunteerism Award at the Convention. This award is given in recognition and appreciation of a person who serves their local LGBTQ+ community as a committed, passionate volunteer.

Learning With Love is SOLD OUT, but we'll be sharing highlights before, during, and after the Convention including Chapter Award winners, takeaways from workshops, plenaries, panels, PFLAG Lobby Day, and more. Stay tuned!
