URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Stop Formosa Plastics from building a TOXIC PLANT in Cancer Alley!

We are in a plastics crisis, Friend. Our oceans are becoming overrun with plastic debris and it’s killing over a million sea animals each year. Meanwhile, the plastics factories producing the products that are invading our oceans spew toxic pollution into our communities.

In Louisiana, there’s a stretch of more than 200 petrochemical plants and refineries. The communities here face so much pollution and negative health effects that the region is nicknamed Cancer Alley. Now, Formosa Plastics is trying to build another petrochemical plant here.

The people in Cancer Alley cannot afford more pollution. Our oceans cannot afford more plastic debris. Please, Friend, send a message to President Biden telling him to REVOKE Formosa’s permit to build their mega-polluting plant in Cancer Alley!

Formosa Plastics is responsible for several past environmental disasters. In 2016, one of its plants in Vietnam released toxic chemicals into the sea and devastated the lives of more than 4 MILLION Vietnamese residents. In Texas, it illegally released BILLIONS of plastic pellets into local waterways for years.

Despite these past failures, Formosa still has permission to build this new plant in Louisiana. They are taking advantage of the fossil fuel infrastructure in Cancer Alley to make more single-use plastics here since they are banned in Taiwan, where Formosa itself is headquartered. President Biden should not allow a company with such a horrible track record to operate in our country, let alone Cancer Alley! Will you tell President Biden to fight the plastics pollution crisis by 11:59pm TONIGHT?
