Donald Trump and nobody, we mean NOBODY would ever mess with that guy.

Israeli defense minister orders "complete siege" on Gaza Strip as death toll reaches 1,200
Israel’s military scoured the country’s south for Hamas fighters, guarded breaches in its border fence, and pounded the Gaza Strip from the air on Monday as it vowed to lay total siege to the impoverished, Hamas-ruled territory in the wake of the violent, wide-scale incursion that has claimed at least 1,200 lives on both sides. Israel formally declared war on Sunday, after its vaunted military and intelligence apparatus were caught completely off guard, bringing heavy battles to its streets for the first time in decades. Hamas and smaller Islamic jihad groups have taken numerous captives, including soldiers, women, and children, while more than 123,000 Palestinians have been displaced in Gaza in the three-day-old conflict.

Florida family goes to prison for selling bogus bleach COVID "cure"
In news that could only originate in Florida, a father and three sons who created a fake church to peddle Clorox bleach as a "Miracle Mineral Solution" for ailments and promoted it to treat COVID-19 are protesting their prison sentence in court after representing themselves in trial. Mark Grenon, the father in the group, told the presiding judge that he was the real victim and that his sentencing was a kidnapping and the US government should pay him $5.76 million in compensation. Bleach, eh? Wonder where Grenon got that batshit crazy idea?

The asinine Republican assault on literacy and common sense marches on, this time in Alabama, where the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library system added Marie-Louise Gay’s 2013 picture book "Read Me a Story, Stella" to a list of 200-plus books to review and possibly move out of the children’s section, because, well, duh, the author's last name is "Gay," which is, like, so gay. It's comforting to know that, in a world absolutely rife with complex, intractable problems, right-wing zealots are valiantly keeping our children safe from super scary picture books and all things remotely non-heteronormative, both real and imagined.

As Israel came under attack by Hamas militants Saturday that threatened to drag the entire region into a deadly conflict, the billionaire tech bozo logged on to his pet platform X to promote the accounts of known misinformation peddlers as good sources of information on the rapidly unfolding war. Musk, who conveniently ignored the fact that both accounts have repeatedly spread online hoaxes and false information, eventually deleted his posts after countless users highlighted the glaring mistakes and lies they promoted.
