This is one of my favorite weeks of the year. Today, I’m embarking on my 7th Walk Across Connecticut.

It’s a pretty simple idea. Over the course of the week, I’ll make my way from one end of Connecticut to the other, walking about 20 miles a day. I’ll stop wherever the route takes me along the way to hear from people from all walks of life.

That’s my goal for the week: to hear from as many people as possible. It’s my job to represent everyone — not just those who write and call my office. So all of this feedback is important, and I want to hear from you as well.

Can you take a quick survey to let me know what’s on your mind? I want to hear what issues are most important to you.

We switch up the route every time, so this year I’m heading from north to south. I’ll start in Stafford and walk a diagonal route ending in East Haven. Depending on my pace, it should take about four days.

This is a chance to hear from a lot of people — particularly those who don’t follow politics on a day to day basis. It’s important to me that everyone has a chance to talk to their representatives in Washington.

But I know we can’t meet everyone on the walk, so that’s why we put together this short survey. It is a chance to make sure your opinion is registered too.

I’m planning to take a look through some of the results while I’m walking, so your response today would mean a lot.
