Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day, friends!

I am so proud to join all Marylanders in honoring the culture, traditions, and history of Indigenous Peoples in our state and across the country. Their tribes and nations have contributed so much to our state’s multicultural identity.

We recognize Native Americans as the first people of this nation and celebrate their invaluable contributions.

Friends, today, and every day, we must acknowledge our history and work towards uplifting Native American voices and communities.

I’m proud of our Native communities here in Maryland.
