What — specifically — is at stake?

Friend - It's easy to get caught up in the chaos of Washington and forget what we're fighting for. Here's a reminder.

The consequences of Rep. Jack Bergman's continued allegiance with the destructive wing of the GOP are severe. I need your help democratically defeating him so we can send a message to Washington; Enough games, it's time to get to work for the American people.

We often hear "they are a threat to democracy," but more specifically, election-deniers like Bergman jeopardize the reverence of our right to vote. Extremists hamper a woman's right to choose healthcare, and people like Jack Bergman want to privatize Medicare and Social Security. The extremists have made it clear. Social Security will vanish if they get their way. We need to end the rancor, hate, lies, and rage that Republicans have been fueling to make us afraid of our own shadow. It has to stop. The three roles of the federal government are specific and straightforward: Maintain peace/order Protect the country and its citizens' safety Help people We must elect someone who will commit to promoting all three roles, someone who remembers citizens hire Representatives to help them. Jack Bergman supports tax cuts to ultra-wealthy billionaires and giant corporations instead of promoting our children's future, despite that our federal deficit was caused by revenue cuts, not investments in hardworking people. Cuts to food stamps, education and increasing childhood poverty will negatively impact the progress of rural districts like ours. Neglecting environmental protections and inaction on climate change is harmful to where we live, work, and play. Stripping Medicaid — where children make up the majority — will make our citizens sicker and poorer. Decreasing benefits to Social Security or privatizing Medicare threatens the future and well-being of 70 million people. There's too much at stake this election.
