I know my "why," John.

Growing up as the granddaughter of Jewish immigrants and the daughter of a World War II veteran, my family instilled in me the values of hard work, determination, and persistence from a young age.

I worked my way through college, including as a cocktail waitress at Caesars Palace – proudly becoming the first in my family to graduate. And then, I went on to work as a computer programmer, where I witnessed pay discrimination in a male-dominated field.

All of these experiences have informed my "why" – why I ran to serve in the Senate in the first place. Why I fight so hard for working families. Why I'm working tirelessly to win reelection so I can continue bringing much-needed progress to the lives of all Americans.

But to be honest, I can't keep up this fight alone. With CNN analysts calling me one of the most vulnerable senators up for reelection, Mitch McConnell and his allies are coming after me as a top target for defeat – and recent polling shows me 2 points down.
