The New York Times reports that Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin is using this fall’s upcoming elections as a springboard to national office. He’s convinced that if he can flip the VA legislature to full GOP control, he’ll be in position to make a credible bid for the presidency, maybe even next year.

Worse yet, a GOP ‘trifecta’ in state government -- meaning Youngkin as Governor, a Republican-controlled Senate, and a Republican-controlled House of Delegates -- would lead to disastrous policies for the Commonwealth.

Youngkin has pledged to pass a Georgia-style voter suppression law that would disproportionately impact communities of color -- and he peddles Trump’s baseless election conspiracy theories and lies.

Youngkin has promised to ban abortion, which would end our status as the only state in the South without an abortion ban.

Youngkin supports prioritizing tax loopholes for massive corporations over lowering costs for Virginia’s middle class.

Youngkin has promised to roll back Medicaid expansion for over 745,000 Virginians, make it easier for criminals to obtain deadly weapons, and halt efforts to combat climate change.
