As a former teacher and professor, bringing a whiteboard to Congress felt
only natural. Now, thanks to a big purse and small whiteboard, you’ll
rarely catch me unprepared to use a whiteboard.
You too, can whiteboard anyone, at any time. Here’s how to do it:
1. Work backward: Determine what you want your lesson to accomplish.
2. Let the whiteboard speak for itself: It’s a visually engaging tool, so
utilize it. Draw a chart or graph. Hold off on simple bullet points.
3. Control the conversation: In Congressional Hearings, we only have a
few minutes to question a witness. That means really utilizing your
questions.
4. Don't fear silence: No explanation needed.
5. Be fearless: Accountability is a good thing.
The whiteboard has helped me break down the math behind corporate greed
and hold power to account. [ [link removed] ]Can you chip in a few bucks to help send me
and my whiteboard to the Senate?
