The recent assault on Israel struck during the culmination of the biblical Sukkot holiday, notably Simchat Torah, a day of joyous reverence for the Word of God. This timing also coincided with the 50th anniversary of the 1973 Yom Kippur War, a historical moment when Israel faced an unexpected onslaught from an Arab coalition.
The current situation in Israel is grim, with a death toll of over 600 innocent lives. More than 2,156 people have been wounded, with over 300 in critical condition.
Israel's US embassy disclosed that over 100 soldiers and civilians, including whole families with young children, were abducted into Gaza, with numerous Americans among the hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
In a horrifying turn of events, terrorists encircled a gathering of young revelers at a nature party and unleashed automatic weapon fire from all directions, resulting in a devastating bloodbath, with 250 casualties recovered so far. These terrorists remain at large in Southern Israel.
Tragically, there were reports of 'Palestinians' in England and other places celebrating in the streets as news of the Hamas attack emerged, adding a chilling layer to this distressing situation.
Once more, nations extending a welcoming hand to Palestinian refugees, hoping for an embrace of Western values, are met with shame. The indelible memory of Palestinians jubilantly celebrating the tragic events of 9/11, distributing sweets, dancing, and reveling as the World Trade Center, Flight 93, and the Pentagon were engulfed in smoke and devastation, serves as a stark reminder.
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been orchestrating a sinister symphony of meetings with Tehran's proxy organizations, drumming up fervor for collective action against Israel. This turmoil stems from Iran's extensive history of arming and financing Palestinian terrorist groups in Gaza, Lebanon, the West Bank, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen. Since 1992, Iran has poured billions into nurturing its unholy alliance with Hamas, driven not only by shared radical Islamic ideologies but also by a shared sinister goal: the annihilation of Israel.
According to Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Iran sends $100 million annually to Hamas, $700 million annually to Hezbollah, and tens of millions to Islamic Jihad. Hamas also uses Iranian technology and logistical support to produce arms locally.
U.S. policy under the Biden administration has strengthened and emboldened the regime in Iran. Seeking to strike a nuclear agreement with Iran, the administration has weakened U.S. enforcement of oil sanctions against the Islamic Republic, providing the regime with much-needed cash. In August, Iran’s illicit oil exports surpassed [ [link removed] ] 2.2 million barrels per day, a five-year high.
In July, the administration greenlit the transfer [ [link removed] ] of $10 billion to Iran from Iraq. In August, the United States permitted [ [link removed] ] South Korea to release $6 billion in frozen Iranian funds as a ransom for the return of American hostages. While Biden administration officials claim [ [link removed] ] the funds can be used only for humanitarian purposes, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi [ [link removed] ] has said [ [link removed] ] that Tehran will spend the money however it wants. Regardless, money is fungible, so the cash Iran receives frees up other budgetary resources to sponsor terrorism.
As Colonel Retired John Mills reported, [ [link removed] ] the recent coordinated and well-planned breaches of Gaza Strip defenses, including an airborne assault, have caught Israeli security forces off guard. This sophisticated operation may have benefited from the vast arsenal of abandoned arms and ammunition in Afghanistan, with relentless smuggling efforts supported by Iran and potentially narco-subs from Colombia. The strategic goal of Hamas? Foment violence and chaos to disrupt Saudi-Israeli peace talks. Hamas is Iran's proxy, and Iran, in turn, is influenced by China. Ultimately, China pulls the strings, but Biden's $6 billion release to Iran has contributed to this turmoil and suffering.
Our prayers are with Israel as they endeavor to secure the safe release of all hostages, dismantle the Hamas presence in Southern Israel and Gaza, and garner unwavering support from the US and the West in the relentless pursuit of eradicating this terrorist threat both in Israel and across the globe.
