The disgraced ex-president's erstwhile ally — who, we cannot stress this enough, faithfully carried Trump's incredibly dirty water for years until it was no longer politically expedient — had very not nice words for his former boss, pointing to isolationism in the MAGA-fueled Republican Party as complicit in the sweeping Hamas attack on Israel. Pence also took a swing at fellow presidential wannabes Ron DeSantis and Vivek Ramaswamy, whom he claimed had "embraced the language of isolationism and appeasement." Blanks fired!

Israeli soldiers battled Hamas fighters in the streets of southern Israel on Sunday and launched retaliation strikes that leveled buildings in Gaza, while in northern Israel a brief exchange of strikes with Lebanon’s Hezbollah militant group raised fears of a broader conflict. Hamas militants, backed by a volley of thousands of rockets, previously broke through Israel’s security barrier and rampaged through nearby communities. The high death toll, multiple captives, and a slow response to the assault pointed to a major intelligence failure and undermined the long-held perception that Israel has eyes and ears everywhere in the small, densely populated territory it has ruthlessly controlled for decades.

A federal judge in Tulsa declined to stop a new law from taking effect that makes it a felony crime for healthcare workers in Oklahoma to provide gender-affirming medical care to young transgender people. At least 22 states have enacted laws restricting or banning gender-affirming medical care for transgender minors, and most of those states face lawsuits similar to the one in Oklahoma.
