John,
Today, university students across the country are taking part in a day of action, calling on their administrations to commit to not using facial recognition on campus.
They are delivering letters from more than 40 civil society groups (including the ACLU, FreedomWorks, and Color of Change), more than 150 university faculty and staff, student organizations, and thousands of individuals—all demanding that administrations protect campuses from this dangerous, invasive technology.
You can be a part of this day of action: stand with students by emailing and tweeting campuses that haven’t committed to not using facial recognition!
TAKE ACTION
Last week, the client list for the creepy facial recognition app Clearview was published, and it included a number of universities that have tried this technology1 Those campuses are now on our scorecard, along with close to 50 other schools that have not come out against the use of facial recognition. Actions today—on campus and from your computer—will help make the message clear: this technology is unsafe, and completely unacceptable.
With one click, you can make your voice heard, and up the pressure on these universities to join 60+ other schools that say they don't plan to use the technology.
Let’s do this.
