,
I’ve been so fortunate to meet so many people over the past year during my run for City Council At-Large. One of the people I’ve gotten to know well is State Representative Elizabeth Fiedler, who represents a large portion of South Philly not far from my home.
Elizabeth (or “Liz” as I’ve come to know her) was one of the earliest endorsers of my campaign, and she has been one of my most important allies, a trusted confidant and frankly a friend throughout this campaign. She shares the same vision I have for Philadelphia, and has been a staunch advocate for our City in Harrisburg, fighting for healthy public schools, the rights of every worker, and a greener, cleaner Pennsylvania. She also has been an active proponent of defending democracy, and her South Philly Voter Project has mobilized tens of thousands of voters to the polls, helping to elect folks like our current Senator John Fetterman.
Needless to say, Liz is the real deal.
That’s why when she asked me to co-host an event she’s holding next week for her upcoming re-election campaign, I immediately said yes. We need to keep state leaders like Liz in the House so that when I’m in City Hall (knock-on-wood), I’ll have strong allies who will be able to go to the mat for us in the State Capitol when it matters.
