If barriers are now an agreed upon solution, they need to be the buoy barriers Texas has put in the Rio Grande. Buoy barriers can be deployed immediately and they actually prevent migrants from crossing the international barrier. If Biden were really serious, he would be enforcing the laws we have on the books right now to stop illegal immigration. But he’s not serious. His border wall is just a stunt to grab some headlines and make it seem like he’s not totally ignoring the crisis he created. The amendment requires a report on potential Pentagon-Veterans Affairs collaboration for psychedelic-assisted therapy clinical trials. Over the past few years I’ve heard incredible testimonies from veterans who have turned to psychedelic-assisted therapies to treat PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury. This is not about legalization or recreational use of psychedelics. It's about honoring our promise to our military families and confronting the high incidence of suicide in the military and veteran community. We have a crisis, and the idea that we wouldn't research potential breakthrough treatments is unacceptable. The status quo is inadequate, and it won't stop servicemembers and veterans from committing suicide. We have good reason for believing that this research will help. The most recent Phase 3 clinical trials with MDMA found that 86% of the study participants had reduced PTSD symptoms and 71% didn't even qualify as having PTSD anymore. These clinical trials are already happening, and we need to continue this research for our service members.
