“We Can’t Beat Democrat Chaos with Republican Chaos” - Nikki Haley
Nikki highlighted the increasing chaos in Washington and around the country and the world as further proof that it’s time to leave the drama of the past behind and rally around a new generation of leadership. From the crisis at the southern border to record-breaking mortgage rates to rising crime to Congress’ inability to get anything done to China and Russia on the march, it’s clear the status quo isn’t working.

“Democrat leadership has brought us chaos, but we can’t beat Democrat chaos with Republican chaos,” Haley said. “Americans are hungry for a new direction, without more of the same mess and distraction. Republicans should focus on issues that help the American people, like cutting debt, beating inflation, fixing our border, and protecting us from China’s increasing aggression. The drama of the past won’t cut it.”

The Washington Examiner: Nikki Haley gives hard truths about the economy
“Haley has earned a second look from voters specifically by telling them the hard fiscal truths about social program spending driving our explosive national debt.

By every common definition of the term, Haley has run the most fiscally conservative campaign of the 2024 GOP primary. And she has done so while directly targeting the Republicans responsible for the current state of the economy.

"We are $31 trillion in debt, almost $32 trillion... We are having to borrow money just to make our interest payments,” Haley said when I watched her speak to a packed barn in Rye, New Hampshire, back in May. “Now, it would be easy for me to just beat up on Biden for that. But I have always spoken hard truths. And I'm gonna do that with you today."

Haley added, "All Republicans did that to us, to you. Go and look at that $2.2 trillion COVID stimulus bill that they passed with no accountability whatsoever. They expanded welfare, which now leaves us with 90 million Americans on Medicaid and 42 million Americans on food stamps. Did the Republicans try to fix it? No, they doubled down and opened up earmarks for the first time in 10 years."

Cato Institute: Nikki Haley Is Right – Repeal the Federal Gas Tax
“Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley recently proposed eliminating the 18.4 cents per gallon federal gas tax. She reiterated her support for the idea at the second Republican debate in California.

Federal gas tax revenues go into the Highway Trust Fund and then are dished out to the states to use on highway and transit projects. However, since 98 percent of the nation’s streets and highways are owned by state and local governments, it would be simpler and more efficient if those governments were responsible for the funding. Having the federal government raise the funds and then return the funds to the states with regulations attached is unnecessarily bureaucratic.

Nikki Haley’s proposal to repeal the federal gas tax would be a positive step away from the continued consolidation of government power in Washington. We encourage all the presidential candidates to propose strategies for reviving the more efficient and democratic federal structure of the U.S. Constitution.”

More About Nikki Haley

[link removed]

My name is Nikki Haley. I want to tell you a bit about myself and why I’m running for President of the United States.
I’m running for President because my parents came to America more than 50 years ago – an America that was strong and proud, and full of opportunities. I want them to know that America again.

I’m running for President as a military spouse. My husband is deployed and I want him and his military brothers and sisters to know their sacrifice means something – that we do love this country.

I’m running for President for the future of our kids. I have a daughter who just got married and I saw how hard it was for her and her husband to buy a home. I’m doing this for my son who’s a senior in college and shouldn’t have to worry about saying things on a paper that he doesn’t believe in just to get an A.

I’m running for my daughter, my son, and our future generations. I want them to experience the freedom and opportunity that the American Dream has to offer.

I’m running for President because we have a country to save!

I’ve seen that even on our worst days, we are blessed to live in America. But I also know that under Biden’s leadership, times are tough, our future is slipping, and America can be doing so much better.

As governor, I was dubbed a “jobs governor” because I slashed our unemployment rate, brought jobs back to our state, and shepherded in a successful economic recovery.

At the UN I fought for America, made sure our allies knew we had their backs, stood up for Israel even when others refused, and stood up to murderers and dictators to let them know that America was taking names.

I know how to make America strong and proud because I’ve done it before. And I’ll do it as your next President.

As President, I’ll revitalize our economy, support small businesses, stop Washington’s spending sprees, protect our border, champion school choice, and save America’s future.
