Our impact: Policy & AdvocacyÂ

On September 7th, the Home Secretary endorsed Douglas Murray's contentious views as “mainstream” during a Commons statement.
Known for his explicit Islamophobic remarks, Murray has previously advocated for harsher conditions for Muslims and the demolition of mosques.
The MCB has criticised this endorsement, calling Murray's views “objectively racist, extremely Islamophobic” and urging unity against such dangerous and divisive sentiments.Â

The MCB is deeply concerned about the Policy Exchange's recent report on Muslim women wearing headscarves.
The report, fronted by MP Khalid Mahmood, makes unwarranted generalisations about Muslim attire, perpetuating harmful stereotypes.
We believe it misrepresents the diversity and choices of Muslim women, contributing to stigmatisation and marginalisation.

The recent remarks by Conservative London Mayoral candidate Susan Hall insinuating that some of London’s Jewish community is “frightened” of a “divisive” Mayor Sadiq Khan are nothing short of dog-whistle Islamophobia.
Susan Hall's recent intervention, marked by previous endorsements of divisive posts, worsens communal tensions and harms political discourse.

Over the weekend of September 23rd and 24th, more than 200 mosques across the UK opened their doors to welcome visitors from all backgrounds, showcasing the vibrant tapestry of Britain’s multi-faith and diverse cultural landscape.
