We wanted you to know first: 350 Action is thrilled to announce our dual endorsement of Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren as the Democratic presidential nominee.
- In the run up to Super Tuesday the race for president is contentious. The field of potential nominees still includes too much of the old thinking. Now is the time for ambitious platforms that respond to our demands to end the age of fossil fuels and divert necessary resources to care and repair of all communities.
- Sanders’ record on climate speaks for itself. Whether it’s his tireless fight against the Keystone XL or Dakota Access Pipelines, Bernie has long been a champion and the foremost voice in the Senate on climate since day one. He has always taken every chance to raise the stakes for a meaningful response to the climate crisis. And his campaign’s climate platform reflects that: banning fossil fuel exports and new fossil fuel infrastructure, in addition to funneling $16 trillion into well-paid, green jobs to accelerate the transition to a renewable economy — paid for by holding fossil fuel companies accountable for deceiving the public on climate for decades, and a tax on the mega-wealthy.
Warren has a robust record on climate justice. She has been a vocal supporter of efforts to Keep It In the Ground and pass a Green New Deal. Her $1.5 trillion climate plan includes strong environmental justice proposals and recognizes the need for a fast and just transition to a renewable economy.
Warren has called for accountability from banks, asset managers, and insurers and enforcement of protections against fossil fuel enablers. She has bold ideas and supports reparations and real reform for farmers and small businesses. Her agendas for women are robust and she has not shied away from an intersectional, race and gender platform in the climate decade as she has demonstrated leadership and a willingness to learn from mistakes.
In order to transform a broken system we need transformational ideas for policy and a President that speaks to people and planet. And while we have a ways to go in this contest, we thought it important to bolster support for the boldest moves for the next generation by sharing our support for these change makers.

Both Sanders and Warren have pledged to stop all leasing and permitting for fossil fuels on public lands. They have also continually criticized the fossil fuel industry for its role in creating the climate crisis. They have demonstrated time and again their willingness to fight against vested interests.
