Well, folks, it’s official. Election Day is one month away.
As my team and I dive head first into the ground game in Virginia, getting voters to the polls to bring a sweeping victory for Democrats in the General Assembly next month, I wanted to share a quick thought with you.
I frankly can’t remember the last time our legislative elections received this much attention. I’m seeing articles left and right from political pundits talking about why we’re the “state to watch” or how our election is “a sneak peak of what’s to come in 2024.” Here’s a short – but terrifyingly accurate – headline I just read in Politico:
It’s safe to say that this election carries a lot of weight for not just the Commonwealth, but our entire country. That’s why I’m asking if you can chip in $5 to support my efforts these next 4 weeks to turn the General Assembly blue.
A GOP sweep next month would set the stage for rollbacks on climate policies, gun safety, reproductive health care, and more. It could also be a predictor of other upcoming state elections taking place in 2024 – allowing Republicans to test their messaging and campaign strategies.
