The Columbus Dispatch Opinion: "Ohio Republicans steamrolling over fundamental voting rights to suppress Black voices"

Team, what Republicans are doing in Ohio is shameful. From the beginning, the GOP’s redistricting process has been marked by:

❌ Ignoring court orders
❌ Delaying map redraws
❌ Rushing public hearings

Last year, after state courts struck down their gerrymandered districts, Ohio Republicans ran out the clock before the 2022 election by resubmitting gerrymandered maps seven more times.

Now, after delaying the process of drawing new maps for a year and a half, Republicans in Ohio took just a week and a half to rush through manipulated voting districts.

It is absurd – and enough is enough. It’s time for a transparent redraw process. Will you rush a donation now to help the NDRC fight for fair redistricting across the country?

Team, power-hungry politicians should not be in charge of drawing maps. Period. That’s why the NDRC is working across the country to protect the fair maps gains we’ve made, prevent Republican gerrymandering and voter suppression, and propel a fair redistricting process.

"Our democracy is stronger because of what we have accomplished. States that were once gerrymandered . . . are now highly competitive, allowing voters to choose their representatives instead of the other way around.

But the movement doesn’t stop here. We must continue the work until we have fair maps in every state."

– President Barack Obama

The NDRC will keep fighting until we have fair maps across the country – but the strength of our efforts depends on the support we receive from people like you. Will you donate today to help power our work?
