Hi John, as a husband, father, Attorney General, and candidate for Governor, there are a number of ways I’d rather be spending my time than emailing you to ask you to donate to our campaign.

(To be completely honest with you — asking for money is one of the things I like LEAST about running for office.)

In fact, here’s a list of my priorities right now that are MORE important than asking you for money:

💊 Holding irresponsible drug companies accountable for the opioid crisis
♀ Fighting for women’s reproductive rights
🏥 Ensuring every North Carolinian has access to affordable, quality health care
🎒 Keeping our schools and communities safe
🧑‍🏫 Paying our teachers a fair and competitive wage
📵 Stopping annoying and harmful robocalls
🧑‍💻 Creating more job opportunities in our state
💵 Working to lower the rising costs of everyday goods and services
🗳️ Defending democracy and protecting voting rights

And the list goes on...

But here’s the thing: We need to raise about $5,798 every day this month to stay on track for October, and today we’re a bit behind.

John, if we can’t raise the resources we’re counting on, we might have to scale back our plans — and in this dead-heat race, that could be a costly mistake.
