When you’re a child, your mind is soaking up everything.
You’re growing, learning, understanding, and slowly but surely, evolving
into the person you eventually become.
You’ve probably heard me talk about my great-grandmother Maebell James,
but ever since I was little, she taught me that it’s our responsibility to
help others, even when it isn’t easy.
If you don’t like something, she’d say, “Go farther and do better.” That
message has been my north star during my time in public service.
Together, we’re going to go farther and do better so that future
generations have safe communities, a healthy and habitable planet, and a
system that benefits working families.
