I took no joy in my vote to remove the Speaker of the House this week.
Absolute chaos. This has been the extremist Republican party’s strategy since they took control of the House of Representatives in January. Chaos, dysfunction, and eroding folks’ trust in government.
It’s also how they’ve approached every decision when it comes to policy that impacts people’s lives — with callous disregard.
I've said it before and I’ll say it again — the cruelty is the point.
But we’re fighting back. We’re leading a movement that centers the people and organizing against any and every effort by Republicans to hurt and harm our communities.
Democrats might not be in the majority but there’s nothing minor about our work at this moment. I’ll continue advocating for the necessary policy change we need, while Republicans continue playing dangerous games. Because I believe that a truly just future is possible. So I’m asking:
If you’re all in on our movement to advance a truly just America in response to the extremism in the Republican majority, can you make a donation of $3 or more right away?
Republicans aren’t serious about governing. They can't pass their harmful and unpopular agenda, so they play cruel games that hurt our most vulnerable. The people deserve a government that will tackle the real issues they’re facing. Republicans need to either step up or step aside.
And when Republicans try to come for our LGBTQ neighbors, I'll always have their backs. When they try to ban our books, I'll fight back. And I’ll use every tool I have to press for abortion justice in MA and every corner of this country. Together we can advance bold policies that center our most vulnerable. Because the power of the people has always been stronger than the people in power.
