John,Between a sham impeachment inquiry, the government nearly shutting down, and Kevin McCarthy being ousted from his speakership position, it’s been an interesting few weeks in Washington, to say the least.

We’re seeing in real time the grip that extremist, election-denying Republicans have on decision-making in Congress. Now Speakerless, House Republicans are scrambling to find a new leader -- and the potential contenders are even more extreme than McCarthy.

Here’s the short list as of right now:

→ Rep. Steve Scalise – an election denier who still refuses to say whether he believes President Biden was legitimately elected.

→ Rep. Jim Jordan – an ultra-MAGA Trump ally who has repeatedly weaponized his position as House Judiciary Chair on partisan investigations, including a probe into Fani Willis, the Georgia DA investigating Donald Trump for election interference.

→ Some radicals like Marjorie Taylor Greene are even suggesting Donald Trump be the next Speaker.

Whether it be the House, the Senate, or at the Secretary of State level, the election-denier wing of the Republican Party isn’t going anywhere. In fact, it’s becoming more emboldened.
