Earlier this year, Governor Youngkin urged his anti-choice cronies to kill SB 852 – a bill that would have prohibited search warrants from being issued for menstrual data stored in these apps. Without these basic and commonsense privacy protections, this makes a tool that many women use to track their cycles, fertility, symptoms, and more potentially incriminating data.
The sad reality is while these Republican legislators are hellbent on legislating reproductive rights, they don’t even understand how menstruation works. They do not understand that periods are not always predictable or consistent.
