AZ Capitol Times: Hobbs urges court not to eliminate women’s right to have abortions

Katie filed an amicus brief in the Arizona Supreme Court case that will determine whether the 1864 pre-statehood abortion ban can be enforced today. In the brief, Katie emphasizes that access to abortion care is crucial to our state’s public health, and also shares stories of women in Arizona who needed this care after a pregnancy endangered their life, safety, or economic well-being.

KJZZ: Hobbs cancels lease for Saudi-owned alfalfa farm in Arizona

This week, Katie terminated Fondomonte’s lease after they were found to be in significant ongoing default. In her statement, Katie said she isn’t afraid to hold people accountable and protect Arizona’s water future.

Extreme Republicans in Arizona’s Senate are putting on political theatrics instead of confirming Katie’s cabinet nominees. To work around this partisan gridlock, Katie reassigned these nominees as executive deputy directors so they can serve Arizonans without being stuck in the GOP’s charades.

KTAR: Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs meets with Mayorkas in DC to discuss border security

Katie met with Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to explain what she’s seeing at our southern border. In order to keep our borders secure and ensure the immigration process is orderly and safe, Katie is asking for more support from the federal government.

Navajo-Hopi Observer: Hobbs discusses tourism with Nygren, tribes

At her tourism roundtable held at Grand Canyon National Park, Katie met with Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren and other tribal leaders to discuss creating more jobs for Arizona’s tribal communities and growing the tribal tourism economy.
