Dear John,
We've all experienced the frustration of placing an order for takeout, buying a concert ticket, or booking a flight only for the price to suddenly skyrocket at checkout due to unexplained "fees" tacked on at the last moment.
They're called "junk fees," and they are used by corporations to trick their customers about costs and pad their bottom lines. Research shows that these fees can add an additional 20% or more on top of the listed price, and without regulations, they have been allowed to proliferate into all corners of our lives—from our food purchases to rent payments, bank fees, cellphone bills, and more.1,2
Join more than 140,000 people who have signed a petition to break up Ticketmaster, one of the worst offenders when it comes to junk fees.
Ticketmaster holds an unfair monopoly in the concert industry. As one of the only places that sells tickets for live music events, everyday people are forced to pay Ticketmaster’s rising prices stacked with unnecessary fees and deal with a flawed user experience fraught with long wait times.
President Biden has committed to ending junk fees like these as part of his larger fight against corporate greed, and it’s time to add pressure on corporations to end this harmful practice.
Sign the petition now demanding the end of Ticketmaster’s monopoly, which gives it unfair control over the concert industry and excludes working people from experiencing live music.
Sign Now
With the Biden administration now making this a policy priority, we have a real chance to finally take on these corporations and protect everyday people from being scammed by billion-dollar companies making record profits who just want to line the pockets of their executives and shareholders.
The DOJ and the FTC have the power to investigate and break up Ticketmaster and get rid of erroneous fees. Add your name to the petition now, and pass this message on to three of your friends.
Thanks for all you do.
